Gilberto Rodrigo, MD, FACOG
Gilberto Rodrigo, MD, FACOG, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist at Cary OB/GYN, caring for patients at the practice’s Cary and Morrisville locations.
Dr. Rodrigo has dedicated his career to providing comprehensive care for women through every stage of life. He enjoys the full spectrum of obstetrics and gynecology and has particular interests in cervical dysplasia, abnormal uterine bleeding, perimenopause and menopause care, fibroids, minimally invasive robotic gynecologic surgery, and operative hysteroscopy. He believes strongly in helping patients understand their health and treatment options so they can make informed decisions about their care.
Dr. Rodrigo earned his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in San Juan and completed his obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of Connecticut. Before joining Cary OB/GYN, he served on the faculty of Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois, where he served as a physician, assistant professor, and clerkship director for medical students. In addition to his board certification, he is certified by the North American Menopause Society as a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner, a special designation that recognizes his additional education in menopause care for his patients. He has also been involved with the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology.
For Dr. Rodrigo, one of the most rewarding parts of practicing obstetrics and gynecology is developing long-term relationships with his patients. He values open communication and strives to create an environment where patients feel comfortable asking questions, discussing concerns, and actively participating in decisions about their health.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Rodrigo is the proud father of twin daughters and enjoys spending time with his family. An enthusiastic traveler and outdoor adventurer, he enjoys motorcycling, biking, snowboarding, and scuba diving. He also occasionally picks up the ukulele—although he makes no promises about the quality of the performance.
