For more than four decades, Cary OB/GYN has been a trusted partner in women’s healthcare.
Founded in July 1984 by Dr. Barry Bruggers, the practice began with a simple commitment: to provide compassionate, personalized obstetric and gynecologic care to the growing Cary community. From its founding through 1992, Cary OB/GYN was Cary’s only full-time obstetrics and gynecology practice, caring for generations of women and their families as the community grew. Today, Cary OB/GYN continues to grow and serve a diverse, changing community in Cary and Morrisville, bringing together decades of experience, clinical expertise, and a deeply personal approach to care. Our commitment remains the same: to provide exceptional, patient-centered care and be a trusted partner for women through every stage of life.

In Solidarity
UWH of North Carolina and Cary OBGYN recognize that as providers of women’s healthcare services we have a responsibility to provide excellent quality care for all of our patients. We also have a responsibility to condemn racism and discrimination in any form, including in systems such as law enforcement and health care.
We echo the voices asking for justice for Breonna Taylor, a Black woman and EMT in Louisville who was shot and killed in her own home by law enforcement, and George Floyd, an unarmed Black man killed by law enforcement in Minneapolis.
As a healthcare organization, we consider institutional racism a public health and women’s health crisis that yields devastating effects. The legacy of discrimination in our country contributes to ongoing disparities in health and healthcare that harm—and prematurely end-—the lives of Black women and other women of color. The traumatic effects of this are devastating for individuals, families, and their communities.
We will work alongside our colleagues in women’s health to engage in conversations and actions needed to bring about much-needed change and equity. UWH of North Carolina and Cary OBGYN are committed to delivering the best care to our patients and their families.
